Abstract : Apicectomy is a minor surgical procedure which involves the removal of root apex with cyst or any adherent soft tissues.
Case report: A 12year old Female patient reported to our Department with the Chief complaint of pain in teeth 11 & 12, with a history of endodontic treatment done in the same. On clinical examination, teeth were tender to percussion and presented with swelling. On Radiographic examination it was observed that 11, 12 were involved with a large periapical lesion. The teeth were retreated endodontically and performed apicectomy along with the placement of PRF with Nano-hydroxyapatite and Collagen membrane.
UNIQUENESS OF THE CASE: The procedure was in a way different from conventional apicectomy as we incorporated regenerative materials like PRF with hydroxyapatite and collagen membrane (Periocol) which revealed no radiolucency in immediate post-operative radiograph and also the healing process on further follow-up was enhanced.
